Women
Veterans Health Care Programs
Women Veterans Health Care Programs offer quality health care services to
eligible female veterans. All women veterans are encouraged to take advantage of
these programs. However, services may vary from site to site.
Services provided include:
- Patient Education: Breast self-examination; diet and nutrition;
family planning; menopause management
- Medical Care: Mammograms, pap smears, maternity care, infertility
evaluation and treatment; preventive health screenings, bone density testing
- Mental Health: Individual/group counseling; Medication management;
treatment of military and civilian sexual trauma
- Social Services: Housing assistance, employment counseling,
vocational rehabilitation, addiction recovery, domestic violence assistance,
community referrals (food, shelter, clothing)
- Supportive Services: Rehabilitation Services; Persian Gulf
